Toronto Leaside Wildcats U22 Elite had a busy weekend posting two hard fought wins at home. This leaves the Jr Wildcat team with four wins in the last six games, moving up in the standings prior to their break in regular season action to head to Detroit for the USA-Canada Cup Series.
Saturday's 1-0 tight win with Brampton capped off a great Hockey Day in Leaside where the girls helped promote Breast Cancer awareness with our Pink the Rink event and fundraiser for Cancer Research. With the 1-0 win, Claire Hicks celebrated her first U22 Elite shutout.
Sunday's 3-1 victory against Oakville was highlighted by the spirited cheering of our Toronto Leaside U9 team who were inspired by the U22 role models during stick taping, on-ice ceremonies, high fives between periods, to the loud 10-9-8-7... coundown to cap off the win. The teams celebrated with a pizza party after the game.
