On Saturday November 23rd, the team celebrated its many generous sponsors for their commitment to the team welcoming them to Leaside Memorial Gardens to participate in the team’s annual “Sponsor Appreciation Night”, part of the team’s ongoing celebration of the sponsor’s commitment to the team.
While it was a celebration of all the team’s generous sponsors, it featured the team’s Olympic Level sponsor, Paisley Partners Insurance Brokerage and its Silver Level sponsors listed below.

Following pre-game festivities, executives of Paisley Partners Insurance Brokerage, Mr. Stan Maslev and Ms. Kim Jackson, were welcomed to centre ice for special recognition by the team as the team’s Olympic Level sponsor. The team’s leadership group presented them with a framed team jersey following which there was a ceremonial puck drop with the captains of the two teams (Ava Fisher (Leaside) and Reese Reid (Cambridge).
After the celebration the sponsors joined the crowd in attendance to watch the game - a decisive 7-0 Wildcat victory – where they witnessed firsthand the prowess of the team’s amazing athletes and the value of their sponsorship.
Mr. Maslev was particularly enthusiastic after the team’s 3 goal first period. “It’s truly impressive to see these young women playing at such a high level and Paisley Partners Insurance Brokerage is very proud to sponsor such an amazing group of committed athletes.”
Ms. Jackson, a longtime Leaside resident, reiterated the sentiment. “We’ve lived a few blocks from the Leaside arena for many years but because my daughter wasn’t involved in organized hockey, we didn’t know much about the Toronto Leaside Girls Hockey Association or its junior program prior to signing on as a team sponsor for the 2023/24 season. Having met several of these amazing athletes and seen them in action I see why the team is so important to them as they pursue their hockey dreams, and we couldn’t be prouder to sponsor them.”
Mr. Parent, a representative of one of the team’s Silver Level sponsors in attendance (Navacord) and father of a second-year team member provided some thoughts on the athletes and the impact of the team’s sponsors. “The team’s athletes have been dedicated to honing their skills for many, many years and I know from firsthand experience that they’ve all sacrificed a lot to reach the pinnacle of female minor hockey in Canada, and in some ways the world. The team’s operating costs are high and increasing every year, and sponsor support is critical to the team’s ability to provide the resources that players need to pursue their hockey dreams in an historically male dominated sporting landscape.”
The team’s coach, Melissa Wronzberg further emphasized the impact of the team’s sponsors on the lives of the team’s athletes and thanked them for their support. “The launch of the PWHL last year showed what can happen when people dream big, and the Wildcats U22 Elite team provides its 20 athletes a platform to do just that – with the support of its generous sponsors. On behalf of the coaches, the players and their families, I would like to thank our community building sponsors for their support. Leaside is a small, close-knit community in a large city, and it is individuals and companies like our sponsors that make it what it is - a special place to live, play and call home. Their contributions have left a distinctive mark on the lives of the team’s 20 elite athletes - all of whom work hard on and off the ice as student athletes to achieve their goals.”
Thanks again to all our wonderful supporters. We hope to count on your continued support for the 2025/26 season.
COMING SOON - WE WILL BE CONTINUING THE TEAM’S SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM FOR THE 2025/26 SEASON
We are looking to “up our game” for the 2025/26 season with enhanced sponsor branding opportunities which we will be rolling out over the coming months.
Getting involved allows you to directly contribute to the growth and development of these young women and of female elite sport more broadly. It can also have the added benefit of helping businesses meet their goals by providing exposure, advertising, and goodwill in the communities they serve.
If this sounds like something you would like to be part of, please contact the team to discuss sponsorship opportunities, including in-kind contributions, for the upcoming season.
